The JuiceBox Installation Process in Southern California

Site Assessment & Planning
The first step is a consultation. We determine the ideal mounting location for your JuiceBox (at least 18 inches off the ground), confirm your Wi-Fi signal is strong enough for smart features, and measure the distance to your electrical panel. This planning phase is crucial for an efficient installation.
Circuit Installation
Your JuiceBox requires a dedicated 240V circuit. A licensed electrician will add a new two-pole circuit breaker to your panel. The breaker must be rated for at least 125% of the charger’s output (e.g., a 40-amp JuiceBox requires a 50-amp breaker). We then run heavy-gauge wiring from the panel to the charger location, enclosed in conduit for protection.
Mounting & Connection
We securely mount the JuiceBox wall bracket to a stud in your garage wall. The JuiceBox is then hung on the bracket and can be locked for security. We’ll connect the unit either via a NEMA 14-50 outlet (for plug-in models) or by hardwiring it directly into a junction box for maximum power and weather resistance, per NEC guidelines.
Wi-Fi Setup & Activation
Once power is restored, we connect your JuiceBox to your home Wi-Fi network using the Enel X Way app. This unlocks its smart charging capabilities, allowing you to schedule charging during off-peak hours to save money on your SCE, LADWP, or SDG&E bill. We’ll walk you through the app and ensure everything is working perfectly before we leave.
Permitting & Final Inspection
We handle all necessary permits with your local city or county building department. This is a critical step for safety and home insurance purposes. After the installation, a city inspector will visit to approve the work, ensuring it meets all electrical codes. Once signed off, your installation is complete and fully compliant.
